TikTok Posting Tool
from your desktop to your TikTok drafts
Connect your own TikTok account, choose a finished video file, and it arrives in your TikTok inbox as a draft. You add the caption and press publish inside the TikTok app. The tool never posts to your feed, never sees your password, and never keeps your video.

The problem
The last twenty feet
Editing happens on a computer. Posting happens on a phone. Between the two there is a stretch that everybody solves badly: emailing a 50 MB file to yourself, waiting for a cloud folder to sync, or hunting for a cable. The video is finished; it is just in the wrong place.
This tool is that last twenty feet and nothing else. It takes a file from the device you are sitting at and hands it to TikTok, which puts it in your account's drafts. The creative decisions — caption, sound, cover frame, hashtags, whether to post at all — stay where they belong, in the TikTok app, with you.

- People who want to review before publishing. Everything arrives as a draft, so nothing reaches an audience until you say so.
- The @simplyknownfacts channels themselves. The tool was built for this workshop's own shorts first, then opened up because the problem is not unique.
It is not a scheduler, not an analytics dashboard, and not a bulk uploader. One video, one upload, one draft.
How it works
Five steps, start to finish
- Open the connect page. Go to simplyknown.co/connect/ in any browser, on a phone or a computer. There is nothing to download and no SimplyKnown account to create.
- Sign in with TikTok. Press Connect TikTok and you are sent to TikTok's own authorization page, on TikTok's domain. You sign in there and approve two permissions, listed in full below. Your password is typed into TikTok, never into this site.
- Choose your video and, if you like, a caption. Back on the connect page you will see which TikTok account is connected. Pick an MP4, MOV or WebM file up to 64 MB. The caption box is optional — you can leave it empty and write the caption in the TikTok app instead.
- The upload is relayed to TikTok. A progress bar tracks the file leaving your device. It is passed through to TikTok's Content Posting API over an encrypted connection, then TikTok takes a moment to process it. The page waits and tells you when TikTok reports the handoff is done.
- You publish, from the TikTok app. TikTok notifies you that a video is waiting. Open the app, find the draft, add or edit the caption, choose your cover and settings, and post it when you are ready — or delete it if you changed your mind.
Permissions
What TikTok will ask you to approve
Sign-in uses TikTok's official Login Kit. TikTok shows you the request; these are the only two permissions asked for, and nothing else is requested at any point.

Your basic public profile
Your display name, your avatar picture, and the account identifier TikTok issues for this app. This is used for exactly one thing: showing you which account is connected on the upload screen, so you never send a video to the wrong account.
It does not include your email, your followers, your messages, your existing videos, or your analytics.
video.upload
Send a video to your drafts
Permission to deliver a video file into your own account's inbox, where it waits as a draft. This is what makes the transfer possible, and it only happens when you choose a file and press the send button.
It does not publish to your feed, and it cannot read, edit, or delete anything already on your account.
Data
What is used, and what is not
The design goal was to hold as little as technically possible. There is no SimplyKnown user database, because there are no SimplyKnown users — only browsers with a temporary connection to TikTok.
- Your TikTok password
- Never seen. You type it on TikTok's own sign-in page, not on this site.
- Your access token
- Encrypted and sealed inside a Secure, HttpOnly cookie in your own browser. It expires automatically within 12 hours. There is no server-side copy.
- Your name and avatar
- Fetched from TikTok to show you which account is connected. Displayed on screen, not stored.
- Your video file
- Relayed straight through to TikTok during the upload. Not stored, not copied, not inspected — once TikTok has it, this side holds nothing.
- Your caption
- Passed to TikTok with the video, if you wrote one. Not kept afterwards.
- Analytics and advertising
- None. No analytics script, no ad network, no cross-site tracking cookie anywhere on this site.
- Your followers, messages, drafts and stats
- Never requested. The permissions above do not grant access to them.

Limits
What it accepts
- File formats
- MP4, MOV, or WebM.
- Maximum size
- 64 MB. The file is sent to TikTok in a single piece, and 64 MB is TikTok's cap for that.
- Caption
- Optional, up to 2,200 characters. You can always change it in the TikTok app before posting.
- How many at once
- One video per upload. Send another as soon as the first is handed off.
- How long you stay connected
- Up to 12 hours, then the session expires and you reconnect. Pressing Disconnect ends it immediately.
- What you need
- A TikTok account and a modern browser. Phone or desktop, either is fine.
Video length, resolution, aspect ratio and content rules are TikTok's, and they apply the same way they would if you uploaded in the app.
A deliberate choice
Why it goes to drafts, not to your feed
Every video sent through this tool lands in your TikTok inbox as a draft. Nothing is ever published automatically, and the tool has no scheduler, no queue, and no way to post on your behalf while you are away.
That is partly TikTok's rule — publishing straight to a feed is reserved for apps that have been through TikTok's audit — and partly the point. A draft gives you the last look: the cover frame, the sound, the caption, the hashtags, and the decision to post at all. A transfer tool should move the file and then get out of the way.
Plain version: this tool does not post for you. It puts the video where you can post it.
Leaving
How to disconnect
Two ways, and either one is enough:
- Press Disconnect on the connect page. That asks TikTok to revoke the token and deletes the cookie from your browser on the spot.
- Remove it inside TikTok — Settings and privacy, then Security and permissions, then Apps and permissions. Revoking there cuts off access regardless of what any other browser is holding.
Because nothing is stored on this side, there is no account left behind and nothing further to delete. Closing the browser or waiting out the 12-hour session has the same practical effect.
Troubleshooting
If something goes wrong
- “That file is over 64 MB.”
- Export a smaller version — a lower bitrate, 1080p instead of 4K, or a shorter cut. A one-minute vertical video usually lands well under the limit.
- “Use MP4, MOV, or WebM.”
- The file is another format, or the extension does not match. Re-export as MP4, which is the safest choice for TikTok.
- “Your TikTok session expired — please reconnect.”
- Sessions last at most 12 hours, and TikTok can end one sooner if you revoked access. Press Connect TikTok again; nothing was lost.
- “TikTok is processing your video…” and it stays there
- The file has already left this site — TikTok is transcoding it. Large or long videos take longer. Close the page and check the TikTok app in a minute; the draft appears there when TikTok is done.
- “Authorization cancelled.”
- Cancel was pressed on TikTok's approval screen, so nothing was connected. Start again whenever you like.
- The upload finished but I cannot find the draft
- Look for the notification TikTok sends when a video arrives, and check the account shown on the connect page was the one you meant. If it still is not there, TikTok may have rejected the file during processing — try a re-export as MP4.
